reasons why tim burton's alice in wonderland is awesome.

1. all my favorite stars are in it. alan rickman (though he disappointed me), anne hathaway, helena bonham-carter, and johnny depp.

2. the red queen has a fake forehead and i spent half the film trying to figure out if that was her real head or not.

3. the set is pretty freaking awesome.

4. it's actually not as bad in 3D as everyone thinks it is.

5. the cheshire cat's CGI is amazing. he does backflips and stuff.

6. MPAA's rating description: "rated PG for fantasy action/violence involving scary images and situations, and for a smoking caterpillar."

7. YOU'RE ALL LATE FOR TEA-- SPOON.

8. alice has some really cool dresses, especially the one she wears at the red queen's court.

9. the red queen had the best lines ever.

10. come on, it's tim burton. it's bound to be awesome.

icicles.

i had a TON of icicles in my backyard a few days ago. it's been freezing and raining and i guess they just kept growing and growing, until they became these long mutant things. i went out and took a bunch of pictures.

some of them are red, too, especially at the tips, which is rather strange. icicles aren't supposed to be red, are they?

i knocked some down on accident.

and then a few days later mom started worrying that they were weighing down the roof, and OHNOES THE ROOF IS GONNA COLLAPSE. so i went out and hit them with a broom and tried to avoid getting hit on the head. it was fun, and they made little clink-clink-clink noises when the broom hit them, and cool patterns in the snow.
